Be the Cause of Unconditional Love!

Marilyn Monroe craved unconditional love.  She once said…

“If you can’t take me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best!”

We all have good and bad days, and for sure, we want to be loved on both!  We all recognize that we have a wide range of emotions. Some we are proud of… some not so much, but unconditional love is still what we hunger for.  Yet how do we give this ultimate gift without feeling personally compromised, without feeling a sense of personal loss?

First, understand that there are only two emotions… love and the absence of love which is fear.  Fear has many forms: anger, resentment, jealousy, unkindness, bitterness, harsh tones, impatient words, dismissive remarks.

Second, know that love does not attack fear.  The presence of love is what causes fear to disappear, just as light makes darkness impossible.  The power of love brings fear to its knees.

Third, recognize that the attraction of love to love is irresistible.  Love entices more love, like a flame draws in the moth.  Love wants to unite all things with itself.

Here is today’s Gladitude- How can you be the presence of love in your relationship, right now?  Where can you bring patience and calmness?   How can you speak in support of yourself without blame and criticism… without making the one you love the enemy?  Realize, if you make them the enemy, then an enemy will respond and a battle will be your result.

So really, the only valid question is, “What do you want to be the cause of?  Do you want to be the cause of more loss or greater love?”
